Today Chase and I had a "Mommy Son" day and it was so much fun! For breakfast we went out for donuts, and to the movie theater to see "Brave." We had the whole theater to ourselves, which was awesome because Chase constantly asks questions and we didn't have to worry about being quiet!
Afterwards we went to the pool and swam for hours. We practiced our swimming skills and had fun with the new water guns and other water toys we bought earlier in the day! That totally wore him out:
It was the best day. We really needed the "us" time, as he has been very challenging lately, always competing for attention with his little sister around. Love my baby boy!

Splash Day... For All of Us!
This morning I took the kids to the splash pad. But it wasn't one of those days where I just sat on the side and said, "Go play." I got in my swimsuit and led the way! When we arrived we were the only ones there. That lasted about half an hour, and in that time we all got SOAKED. We had such a blast.
When other families started showing up I was totally the crazy lady running around with all the kids. I took enough of a break to snap a few pics with my phone, but then had to take it right back to the car so I could go back out and play! It felt great, and it was totally fun to run around and splash and play with the kids. What a great way to start the day!

Tennis Camp
Chase had Tennis Camp this week and he really enjoyed it. The kid is pretty good, too!
He's in the orange shorts:

And then of course he has to be his goofy self, too!
I wish the camp had been longer. One week just wasn't enough for him!

Random Summer Update!
We have been up to some summer fun that warrants a random update!
We have had lots of rain lately. One day early in the summer Chase was very concerned about Chloe getting wet, so he chased her with the umbrella. It was incredibly sweet:
Chloe was distracted by the bugs in that photo, and Chase joined her shortly thereafter:
Brian had the kids for the 4th of July this year, but I still had to dress my baby girl up for it!
We had some fun hanging out with our friends Don, Julie and their son DJ!
It all started with DJ's birthday party...
...where Chase had too much fun beating the pinata (click the thumbnail to view video):
The kids had some fun playing super hero dress-up. Chloe (Wolverine) was OK with Spiderman...
...until Spiderman put his mask on:
Today is the last day for swim lessons. Chase has made good progress and Chloe is completely fearless in the water!
I think it's safe to say I've been pretty successful in wearing them out!
Chase has also been active at Tennis Camp this week. More of that to come in my next post!
Also, there are more photos in our Photo Album, and videos in our Video Album, if you're interested!

Happy 2nd Birthday, Chloe!
Yesterday was Chloe's 2nd birthday. We had so much fun! First, I had birthday cupcakes to finish! Katie came for the weekend so she got recruited into helping:
We make a great decorating team!
And I'm happy to report that the finished product was WAY better than last year's!
We started the birthday festivities at the water park! Check out my birthday diva:
We were beach babes together:
We had fun getting splashed...
...and going around the "lazy" (crazy!) river together:
Chase had fun splashing around, too!
After the water park we headed back to my house for pizza, cake, ice cream and presents! It doesn't get much better than that!
We all looked a tad disheveled after getting soaked at the park, but we didn't really care!
Chloe was sooooo excited when we all started singing to her! She reached out and grabbed my hand when we started. It was adorable:
She pretty much just ate the frosting off her cupcakes (yes, plural... it was her birthday)!
Ahhhhhh.... Satisfaction!
Then it came time for... PRESENTS!!!!
Daddy got her a tricycle, which she loved...
...until it was time to go!
Then we got a huge dramatic face-down temper tantrum in the middle of the road:
Welcome, terrible two's!
I put all the pics (there are lots!) in our Photo Album if you're interested!
