Spirit Week: Crazy Hair Day

It's spirit week at school again! I love it! Yesterday was Jersey Day and of course I sported my Mizzou jersey. Today is crazy hair day!

The scary thing is some people actually like it this way. What does that say about my normal hairstyle?!?

Actually, from the side it is kind of cute, in a funky sort of way (although a bit high for my taste), but the front is NOT!

UPDATE: My mom had too much fun with these photos! Click here to see what I mean!

Pumpkin Patch

We drove to Temple to the Silo Christmas Tree Farm today to play in their pumpkin patch. We all had a great time. Chase used a water pump to race rubber ducks...

...and he got to feed the animals:

I managed to get him to pose for a few pictures while we were there (we bribed him with a chocolate cookie... that's my boy)! We have learned we can't say, "Smile!" to get a nice picture of him or we get this:

But we finally figured out if we can get him to laugh the results are much better:

After all that he got to jump around in the hay:

The more he jumped the less air he got under him. And then he realized he could throw the hay, too (Facebook viewers, click "View Original Post" to see this video)!

Zilker Park

We spent the day at Zilker Park in Austin on Sunday. It was so beautiful!

So of course I took full advantage of the photo opportunities!

(That's the beautiful face he makes when I say, "Smile!")

This next picture makes me laugh because it looks like he's trying to take a bite of the water:

That's my cutie!

Dinosaur Movies

Brian is teaching all day today, so Chase and I made a couple short films for your viewing pleasure. Facebook viewers, you'll have to click "View Original Post" to see both of these flicks.

The first one is entitled "The Helpful Dinosaurs:"

After I turned off the video he said to me (after I helped one of his dinosaurs climb back up the cliff), "That's good helping, Mommy." I love it when he praises us ("Good job, Mommy!"). It is too cute.

Our second film is entitled "The Dancing Dinosaurs:"

I'm pretty sure when Brian gets home we will have dinosaurs fighting each other again. But when Daddy's away, Mommy gets to play her way! Ha ha!

I'm a Big Kid Now!

Notice anything different about this photo?

Yes, our baby is wearing big boy underwear. He has been getting really good about going potty (#1 and #2 now... I know that's probably TMI for some of you!) so we bought him a few pair to try out at home on the weekends. We aren't all about wearing them full time yet, but he has done well in them!

Quick story: I noticed Chase's new undies had a little flap in the front and I thought that was SO cute. So when I took him to go potty I showed him how to use it. It was a lot harder to open than I thought it would be, but I managed. So he peed, thinking he was so cool. But then afterward I couldn't get it back in! I started laughing so hard and Chase just took off running into the kitchen to show daddy. "It's stuck, Daddy! It's stuck!" As he ran around the house with it flapping out the front of his underwear I could not pull myself together. Brian was like, "Ummm, I don't think anyone actually uses those flaps." Wait....

What?!?

Why in the world do you put them there then? I was very disappointed. I mean, every girl dreams of that kind of easy access and you guys don't even use it?!? That's just wrong!

At any rate, I guess we'll go back to pulling the underwear down when we pee from now on. *sigh* It's just not as fun!

P.S. This is my third update today. See the previous post, as well as the one dated 9/20!

New Bike!

I'm cheating again (see my first cheat of the night a few posts below this one, dated 9/20)!

Chase's friend Tyler gave him his old tricycle. Wasn't that nice of him? We went outside to play with it, but before we could concentrate on the bike, the trash can just had to be brought in (Chase's new favorite job):

Chase gave the bike a fair shot for a couple minutes...

...but then decided he liked pushing it around better:

And then when he got tired of the bike, we played ball for awhile:

(I hate that the ugly side of the neighbor's house is always in the background of our "playing outside" photos! Nothing like an A/C unit and a random hose coming up out of the ground to enhance a priceless photo of your child!)

Anyway, the bike has been a bit lonely since....
