Swinging!

One summer evening we decided to go out in the backyard and do some swinging. Chloe wanted to get on the "big kid swing." I put her on it but was nervous about her actually staying on it!  She did so well, though, and with Chase swinging next to her it created a rocking motion that actually got her swinging, too.  She loved it, and so did Chase!  They had the best time.

After awhile Chloe was yelling, "Push me!  Push me!"  Chase was happy to oblige.  Click on the thumbnail to view the video:

Mommy Son Day

Today Chase and I had a "Mommy Son" day and it was so much fun! For breakfast we went out for donuts, and to the movie theater to see "Brave." We had the whole theater to ourselves, which was awesome because Chase constantly asks questions and we didn't have to worry about being quiet!

Afterwards we went to the pool and swam for hours.  We practiced our swimming skills and had fun with the new water guns and other water toys we bought earlier in the day!  That totally wore him out:

It was the best day.  We really needed the "us" time, as he has been very challenging lately, always competing for attention with his little sister around.  Love my baby boy!

 

Chloe's 2-Year Stats

Chloe had her 2-Year doctor's visit today. Here are her current stats!

Weight: 33lb 5oz (97%)
Height: 34" (48%)
Head: 19" (68%)

I think this will be my last "stat" post.  After awhile, we girls get sensitive about sharing our weight.  Ha ha!

 

Potty Training

We haven't had much success with potty training Chloe yet, but she sure does love to sit on it and entertain herself! Here she is reading a couple "sing-songy" books ("Itsy Bitsy Spider" and, my favorite, "Snuggle Puppy")!  Click on the thumbnail to view the video:

Splash Day... For All of Us!

 
This morning I took the kids to the splash pad.  But it wasn't one of those days where I just sat on the side and said, "Go play."  I got in my swimsuit and led the way!  When we arrived we were the only ones there.  That lasted about half an hour, and in that time we all got SOAKED.  We had such a blast. 

When other families started showing up I was totally the crazy lady running around with all the kids.  I took enough of a break to snap a few pics with my phone, but then had to take it right back to the car so I could go back out and play!  It felt great, and it was totally fun to run around and splash and play with the kids.  What a great way to start the day!

Tennis Camp

Chase had Tennis Camp this week and he really enjoyed it. The kid is pretty good, too!

I wish the camp had been longer.  One week just wasn't enough for him!

Random Summer Update!

We have been up to some summer fun that warrants a random update!

We have had lots of rain lately.  One day early in the summer Chase was very concerned about Chloe getting wet, so he chased her with the umbrella.  It was incredibly sweet:

Chloe was distracted by the bugs in that photo, and Chase joined her shortly thereafter:

Brian had the kids for the 4th of July this year, but I still had to dress my baby girl up for it!

 We had some fun hanging out with our friends Don, Julie and their son DJ!

It all started with DJ's birthday party...

The kids had some fun playing super hero dress-up.  Chloe (Wolverine) was OK with Spiderman...

Today is the last day for swim lessons.  Chase has made good progress and Chloe is completely fearless in the water!

I think it's safe to say I've been pretty successful in wearing them out!
