Well this year's new years eve was much more low-key than last year's! My friend Katie and I decided we should still go out in style this year, but we were much lower-key this time and went out in San Antonio the weekend before New Year's Eve. We had a great time (like we always do together)!
This year Chase stayed up with me to watch the ball drop New Years Eve. To keep ourselves entertained before midnight we watched a movie...
...and played on the new XBOX (thank you, Santa)! We made an awesome discovery: It includes a demo version of Dance Revolution! So we spent a lot of time shaking our booties, and it was fun. I think I will be buying the whole game.

He didn't understand why we couldn't go to New York last night to see it live. I had flashbacks of when I was in New York with my family on vacation one New Years (I must have been in middle school?) and my brother and I were begging our parents to take us. We did not understand why they were so mean to not let us go! Ha! I get it now.
Last year I decided not to do my typical new year's "resolutions," but come up with sort of a "mantra" instead... something general enough that I could apply it to many facets of my life. It worked out awesomely and it's something that stuck with me all year. Last year's mantra was "Take more risks." This year my mantra is...
"Make it happen."

I remember that trip so well - it was freezing! Christmas at Aunt Nancy's and a trip to the city for site seeing, culminating with the Rockettes. It was great:). Even with the begging!
