Today I took the kids to the Harker Heights Easter Egg "Hunt." It was more like an Easter Egg Dash. The kids were really excited, though. We got there early because we have learned from past experience if you aren't ready to go right at the start time, you will get no eggs. Here they are, ready to go (before the eggs were even put on the baseball field):
We lined up along the grass and waited patiently (ha!) for them to say "go."
Chase got into his sprinting "start position" and Chloe quickly followed suit:
Now, when we got there we found different fields for different ages, and strict instructions that there were to be no children older or younger than those ages on the fields. I'm sorry.... Call me overprotective but I did not feel comfortable setting my son free on the "6/7/8-year-old" field while I went with Chloe to the "3 & under" field on the other side. So I compromised and took them both to the "4/5-year-old" field. On that field the parents were instructed to stay on the sides, so I told Chase he was in charge of taking care of his little sister. Well, let's just see how THAT panned out, shall we? Click on the thumbnail to view the video:
The "hunt" was over in about 2 minutes (tops). Here is the "after" pic. Notice the difference in their baskets. Thank goodness Chloe didn't seem to notice (or mind):
In one of Chase's eggs he discovered a ticket saying he had won a special prize! It was pretty cool, and he was super excited:
He is sleeping with his pirate sword tonight. Ha ha!
More pics are in our Photo Album if you're interested!
