Harlem Globetrotters
I remember seeing the Harlem Globetrotters as a kid and I loved it, so I decided this year for Chase's birthday I would get tickets for the two of us to go. Chase loved the game and we laughed tons. He can't stop telling everyone he meets about all the silly stuff they did. Afterwards I got brave and plowed through the crowds so he could meet one of the players and get his autograph:
I'm so proud of myself for this. I hate crowds, but a mom's gotta do what a mom's gotta do! Look at his face. Totally worth it.
Of course we had to bring Chloe something from the game, so she got the stuffed mascot, Globie. And she loves him. Awwww...!
We had so much fun that I'm thinking of making this a tradition... giving experiences as birthday gifts, vs. material "stuff." The one-on-one time spent together was awesome. I shared my idea with the kids and they really like it. Chloe can't wait to find out what we're doing for her birthday! We'll see how long the excitement lasts. I'm sure one day they'll be too cool to take me anywhere, so I'm going to enjoy it while I can!
